Right now every photo, every newsreel, every amateur video in every archive in the world are being digitalized. With facial recognition advances The Circle can identify everyone in every photo and every video. The searchable archive fills in the worldwide historical record.

Now, through the help of DNA and far better genealogical software, anyone can quickly access every available piece of information about their family lineage, all images, all video and film, with one search request.

The Story of Annie

Annie, a longtime member of the Gang of 40, was one of the first individuals to volunteer to have her ancestry mapped by PastPerfect.

PastPerfect allows the world to trace back the ancestral history of Annie’s parents, finding past footage from SeeChange that documented moments of their lives. As Annie’s parents celebrated their anniversary drinking wine by the pier, they witnessed a stranger fall off edge of the pier into the water and drown. Clearly traumatized and in shock, they were too emotionally stressed to report the incident to authorities. PastPerfect as uncovered secrets for Annie and helped her come to terms with her history.

Mae Holland I hope you all can all send Annie your good wishes, your own stories of finding out about some dark spots in your family past, and make Annie feel less alone. Tell her you’re on her side. Tell her you like her just the same, and that some distant ancestor’s crimes have no bearing on her, don’t change the way you think about Annie.
